Festival & Academy Ver\u00e3o Cl\u00e1ssico 2025<\/strong> | 11th edition<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

The 9th edition of VER\u00c3O CL\u00c1SSICO will take place from 17 to 29 July 2023, in Lisbon. It will include daily concerts and masterclasses, with the participation of musicians and professors from some of the world\u2019s most prestigious international educational institutions, as well as soloists from leading orchestras worldwide.<\/span><\/p>

Founded in 2015, the VER\u00c3O CL\u00c1SSICO Festival and Academy is an initiative that annually presents concerts and masterclasses in Lisbon and has been consistently recognized by both national and international press as one of the world\u2019s leading festivals and academies.<\/span><\/p>

The VER\u00c3O CL\u00c1SSICO Masterclasses are aimed at music students and teachers. In the 2023 edition, around 200 young musicians, Portuguese and international, took part, coming from countries such as Germany, Austria, Armenia, Belgium, Canada, China, South Korea, Croatia, Denmark, Spain, the USA, France, Georgia, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, North Macedonia, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Romania, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Ukraine, and Venezuela.<\/span><\/p>

For the 2023 edition, professors of worldwide reputation have already been confirmed, coming from renowned conservatories and universities such as Berlin, Paris, Brussels, Oslo, Cologne, Mannheim, Amsterdam, D\u00fcsseldorf, and Madrid, as well as from leading orchestras, including soloists from the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestre de Paris, and the Orchestre National de France.<\/span><\/p>

All masterclass participants are eligible for the VER\u00c3O CL\u00c1SSICO Prizes, judged by the faculty. These prizes, awarded in the form of concert engagements within music seasons held in Portugal, play an important role in encouraging and recognizing the talent and work developed by participants during VER\u00c3O CL\u00c1SSICO. Some prize-winning young musicians from previous editions have already had the opportunity to perform as soloists with Portugal\u2019s three regional orchestras\u2014the Orquestra do Norte, Orquestra Filarmonia das Beiras, and Orquestra Cl\u00e1ssica do Sul\u2014as well as at international music festivals.<\/span><\/p>

The VER\u00c3O CL\u00c1SSICO \u2013 Lisbon International Music Academy thus promotes the training and public presentation of young talents, encouraging and supporting them in building their careers, while simultaneously fostering cultural exchange among participants of different nationalities. For Portuguese students, it offers\u2014within their own country\u2014a platform for developing their artistic level and an exceptional opportunity to learn from the most prestigious international professors, world-leading references on their instruments.<\/span><\/p>

The educational axis of VER\u00c3O CL\u00c1SSICO is complemented by the performance axis, embodied in the Music Festival, which throughout the event presents concerts in Lisbon featuring major works from the 18th to the 21st centuries: four MasterFest concerts, with the participation of the musicians\/professors, and six TalentFest concerts, featuring VER\u00c3O CL\u00c1SSICO young musicians who are nationally and\/or internationally award-winning.<\/span><\/p>

The VER\u00c3O CL\u00c1SSICO Festival and Academy thus stands as a unique artistic and pedagogical initiative in Portugal, a cultural project of excellence open to all audiences.<\/span><\/p>
